I’m continuously educating myself on the internet and constantly research on Social Media. I came across a new site called Fancy which did in fact catch my fancy. It’s very similar to Pinterest with a bit of a different layout. By their own definition they have described themselves to be part store, blog, magazine, and wishlist which is a pretty good combination for someone like me.
Now, you might be thinking we don’t need another wannabe Pinterest but Fancy actually has items that you can “fancy” (imagine Facebook Like or Pinterest Pin) and eventually buy if you fancy it enough. They also focus on having only 1 or 2 images as you scroll so you can better appreciate the products.
Taking the idea from Pinterest of pinning you can mark items in Fancy by clicking the Fancy button that shows up when you hover over the image. When you go to your profile you’ll see everything you’ve fancied (also called a catalog). If you click on a particular product you actually have the option of purchasing the item right there and then.
Aside from “fancying” what’s on the site you can also “fancy” from any website with a Fancy button that you install on your Bookmarks bar. In a few months time this will probably join the ranks of the biggest Social Media sites.
The items I’ve seen so far are interesting and which I hadn’t come across yet. This is another excellent tool for stores to help spread the word about thier products. They also have the Scroll to Top feature only it’s called Jump to Top which is very helpful.
Right now they have a referral program which lets you earn depending on the friends you have referred. Fancy is another way of passing the time. If you enjoy making wishlists then this is definitely for you.
