Working Mom Magazine Valentines Issue

Posted on

Valentines is here! Well, almost here and I love the topics in this month’s Working Mom Magazine. First of all Richard Gomesz and Lucy Torres are on the cover. They seem to be one of the all time couples out there. More than that, there’s so much to explore in this issue.

I remember checking them out when they were on TV and yes, I did follow their story. Just a little bit…

Since Jael will be going to school soon I’m so intrigued by these bento meals I keep seeing and reading about. I loved that there were easy to make bento meals for me to try. I hope I can make it work and Jael finds it appealing and delicious! A challenge for me!

This issue seems to have alot of information relating to my youngest like their Early Learning section focusing on prepping for Preschool. It evens provides a comprehensive list of preschools with their corresponding teaching methods.

Of course, since it’s a Valentines issue there’s a whole section on Chocolate! They even have recipes by Chef Jessie Sincioco with chocolate in salads and dishes such as scallops and pork loin. Very interesting and experimental. This is beyond what I can do though but am opting to share it with Oliver.

Also in the issue are a sexy bedroom makeover, spa treatments and romantic Valentine’s escapes.

Kobo Glo Sleepcover

Posted on

I know there’s a big debate over reading “real” books or reading on ereaders. Truth be told I still love the smell of a good worn book. I love to see a row of books on a shelf BUT if for every book that I wanted to read I needed to actually buy a “real” book and have it at home I would be swimming in books. I almost was at one point until I finally and painstakenly let go of most of my collection. I only kept the ones that I truly love and hold my interest no matter how many times I’ve read them.

I have come to LOVE my Kobo Glo which was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. This bookworm will take books in any way, shape or form. When I first got my Kobo Glo the first thing I searched for was a Kobo Glo sleepcover. I saw a ton online but none that I could find here.

Galleon to the rescue! I was able to find an authentic Kobo Glo sleepcover and have it delivered right to my doorstep! Galleon is the place to go to for products not found in the Philippines. Check it out here.

I might sound crazy… BUT isn’t this a beaut?! Leather charcoal black cover with a magnetic closure and a garter to secure it. At first I was worried that I would scratch up the cover or marks would be on there in no time but to my surprise even when I accidentally scratched it there wasn’t any kind of mark. It’s a soft leather so there aren’t any finger marks as well.

My Kobo Glo is white so it’s a nice contrast to the black sleepcover.

The inside is smooth and makes sure that your Kobo Glo will not get scratched. It fits nicely and easily into the 4 corner brackets. Perfectly suited and made for my baby.

As you can see the on/off and light buttons are easily accessible though you won’t have much need to use the on/off button since your Kobo Glo will automatically “sleep” when closed and “wake up” when opened.

The charger port is in the middle so no problems.

Nice and compact, perfect to bring with you anywhere. You can secure it with the garter and even if you read it with the backside folded it still closes all the way which I love. I was checking for creases on the spine of the sleepcover but none so far!

I am loving my Kobo Glo sleepcover! It’s definitely a worthy investment to protect your ereader.

Working Mom Inspiration for Dec-Jan 2015

Posted on

Being a working mom whether you’re at an office or at home we definitely need a little help and sometimes encouragement. What better way to get both than with Working Mom magazine which has everything you could possibly need from our well-being to parenting, beauty and even recipes.

This magazine has a little bit of everything for us and I’m loving that their content is worthy of our time. We have so few minutes to sit down and read that when we do it has to be worth it.

The Dec-Jan issue features the Sotto family and the issue focuses on the holidays and how to start our 2015 right. It was doubly special for me because I was featured in their section Mommy Smarts as one of the Savvy Shopping Moms. It was an exciting experience for me and I loved that I got to share my tips when shopping online.

I’m always on the look out for helpful ideas especially for the home and their Live Well section has loads of inspiration. Who here likes to look up recipes but doesn’t really cook? I’m guilty of that and hopefully someday soon I actually get to try the recipes that I’ve been saving.

I’m looking forward to their next issue and what they have in store for us mommies then!
