ESTA Application Status

Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an online application system that pre-screens visitors to the United States before they are granted access into the country. ESTA is not a visa but only a permission to come into the US.

During the application, the visitor submits his data recording. The system is only available to visitors from the 38 Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries. The system does not guarantee entry to the United States after approval. It is recommended that visitor applies for ESTA seventy-two (72) hours before departure to the US and you can check esta application status online.

ESTA is for visitors coming to the US for tourism and business. To apply, a visitor submits his contact information, recent employment information, valid passport from his home country and valid credit card to pay the $14 application fee.

What is a VWP Country?

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) is an immigration program of the United States Government which allows citizens of 38 VWP countries access to the United States. Visitors from VWP countries are only allowed into the program for ninety (90) days. Such visits are either for business or tourism and will expire after 90 days. The idea of the VWP program is to allow citizens of VWP countries entrance to the United States for a specific period without a visa.
