An emergency baby bag is a must, if you have a baby in your home. This bag should have essentials so that it comes in handy in unplanned situations. We have a list of 11 products that should be present in this bag; this article should help you prepare better for future situations with your new ones!

Wipes

Wipes come in so handy, especially when you are traveling with a baby. You should keep the entire pack of wipes. Do ensure that you are using a wipe that does not give the rash to your baby’s face and skin because you might just need to wipe your baby’s face as well and not just his/her bottoms. The wipes pack need not be a bulky one, just a handy pack!

Change of Clothes

When you are out of your home, there are millions of things in which you can get caught up with your baby. It could rain outside (without you anticipating it!), and you can spill something on his/her clothes. In short, you might need to change your baby’s clothes while you are out, which is why you must have an extra pair of clothes in your bag.

Extra Pair of Pants

Imagine you have gone to a party/ function with your kid in chic outfits and all decked up, and somehow your baby just chooses to poop or pee in his/her pants! Well, you will have no other option but to change the pants. Your baby can also get uncomfortable in the pants, after wearing it for several hours, and you might need to slip the baby into more comfortable & homely pants. In short, keep a pair of comfortable pants in the emergency baby bag, just in case!

Diapers

No one needs to explain to a new mom that she needs to carry diapers in her baby’s emergency bag. You will definitely need to change your baby’s diapers if you are out for more than 2-3 hours. Get special diapers/ premium quality diapers for this bag (if you are using a cloth diaper or a low-quality diaper in your home) and do ensure that your baby is comfortable in this diaper brand (as I already mentioned, babies are choosy & fussy little creatures!).

A warm stole/shawl

This rule applies even in summer seasons! If you are in a place that has an air-conditioner (like a movie theater, a restaurant, a mall, etc.) then you have no control over the temperature of the place. Your kid might just start feeling cold, which is why you always carry a warm shawl/ stole to cover your baby.

Kid’s favorite toy

Kids cry for no reason and pacifying them can take a million years! One thing that can help you in this situation is your baby’s favorite toy (sometimes it is just so magical to see how a baby just stops crying after seeing his/her favorite toy).

Thermos with hot water

Boiled water comes in very handy when you are traveling with little ones. You can’t really expect to get hot water (which is filtered and pure) in every situation. It is best that you carry water in a thermos flask. Even if you are not carrying hot water in a thermos, you should carry a thermos flask, in case you need to get boiled water (for food), for your baby. It need not be a large and bulky one; just a travel friendly one will do.

Baby formula

There are a variety of baby formulas available in the market and every brand might not even suit your baby. There are specific ones that your baby would like, which is why it is very important that you carry the formula in a small box. If you are making baby formula at home, then it goes unsaid that you need to carry some of it while you are out. You never know when you might need to feed your baby!

Changing Mat

If you are a fussy mother with high hygiene standards then you better carry changing mat in the baby’s bag. You cannot put your baby down at any random place and change the baby’s diapers/ pants. You can get a changing mat online; it helps you in saving money on your baby’s essential products.

Pacifier

Silicone pacifiers are pure magic! These things can calm your baby down within seconds. A baby likes to suck something and a pacifier is the best option, while you are out.

Napkins

You obviously need napkins that are used only for your baby. Wiping your baby’s mouth, cleaning your baby’s hands, cleaning your baby’s nose, etc. is possible only with a soft napkin. Do get a cotton one; it is soft yet not so soft and yet so functional!
