Nicole Kidman, Jordan Fisher, and John Lithgow have joined the cast of Spellbound, an animated movie created by Skydance Animation and Apple Original Films. John Lasseter, the iconic animation guru, is leading the project. He has already assembled a star-studded cast for Spellbound, including Rachel Zelger for the voice of Elian.

Spellbound already had an incredible cast. It will now feature Oscar-winning Nicole Kidman as the voice of Queen Ellesmere. Kidman recently starred opposite Javier Bardem in Being The Richards. Javier has been cast to voice King Solon of Lumbria in the film Spellbound. Bardem will also be starring in the upcoming project Dune: Part II. Both Bardem and Kidman will perform voiceovers for the characters of the King and Queen, parents to Princess Elian, who stars in the lead role of Spellbound. The movie involves Princess Elian’s efforts to save her kingdom from the opposing forces of light and darkness.

Six-time Emmy winner Lithgow will be the voice of the Princess of Lumbria’s royal advisor, Minister Bolinar. Jennifer Lewis will voice the princess’ other royal advisor, Minister Nazara Prone. The cast also features Nathan Lane from The Lion King, The Producers, and The Birdcage, who will lend his voice to the character of the Oracle of the Sun. Emmy Award winner Andres De Shields from Extreme Measures will voice the character of the Oracle of the Moon. An additional supporting character in the film, Callan, will be voiced by Jordan Fisher of To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.

Elian is voiced by Rachel Zelger, the highly acclaimed star of Steven Spielberg’s enhanced version of The West Side Story.Zelger was reported to be handpicked from among 30,000 auditioners due to her excellent performance in the lead role of the same movie. Since The West Side Story was a musical film, Zelger seemed like the ideal actor for the voice of Princess Elian.

The Spellbound film centers on a girl named Elian, the princess of a kingdom named Lumbria. Elian takes on a quest to free Lumbria from a spell that threatens to divide the kingdom. Skydance’s Spellbound and Luck were originally slated for theatrical release by Paramount. However, Spellbound will now be streamed by Apple Original Films through Apple TV+ on November 11, 2022.

The storyline of the film is co-scribed by Lauren Hynek, Linda

Woolverton, and Elizabeth Martin. Grammy-winning lyricist Glen Slater wrote the words to the film’s original soundtrack, produced by the legendary composer Alan Menken. Landing Alan Menken as the music composer of all tracks in Spellbound was a great milestone for Skydance Animation. Menken was reported as saying he was excited to be working with elite talent like John Lasseter. Spellbound is John Lasseter’s second animated debut in Skydance Animation. It is directed by Vicky Jenson, who last directed films such as Close and Post Grad. Chris Montan, who is also the executive music producer of the film, and Lasseter are working on the movie with the entire producing team that includes Diana Goldberg, David Alison, and David Lipman under Lasseter’s guidance and supervision.
