Being the non-adventure foodie that I am, I guess you wouldn’t be surprised to learn that I haven’t had Thai food till now. I’m open to new experiences though and this one took me to an authentic Thai restaurant, Thai Queen in Arkipelago, Makati. Kianna and I were all set for an afternoon of cooking dishes that were real recipes used in the Royal Thai Palace. Chef Queenie Boloron brought her expertise and talent to the Philippines and set up shop where she also offers Thai cooking lessons. The Thai cooking class teaches you Thai culture, health the Thai way and acquire a new liking for healthy Thai dishes.

The featured ingredient at the cooking class was Heritage nuts. The dishes called for cashews and walnuts which I of course munched on.

Admittedly, Kianna did most of the cooking. Okay, all of the cooking and I documented because we’d like to recreate some if not all of the dishes at home. This was one of our “dates” and she loves to cook and bake. She surprised me with her knowledge of cooking and skills that she’s acquired from school and watching cooking shows.

Thai Queen wishes to invite everyone to their Thai cooking class which features 5 dishes. The fee per person is Php3500 and comes with an apron, certificate, and recipe cards. The recipes are exclusive to Thai Queen.
Without a doubt it’s a worthwhile experience. I was surprised to find myself liking Thai food because as you probably already know I grew up eating American food so basically, pasta, burgers and things like that mixed in with traditional Filipino food like Sinigang.
