Life is really great! I’m part of a community of mommy bloggers, Mommy Bloggers Philippines and get to work with 2 extremely talented and fun ladies coming up with all sorts of ideas. The latest of which was a photography workshop. We were very eager to help mommies learn the basics of photography and how lucky were we that our very own Joy Gurtiza was more than willing to help!
To be honest, our ventures aren’t money making ventures but more of doing it for the love of helping others, meeting new people and trying new experiences. In this event we were so blessed to have collaborated with new companies and brands to provide relaxing yet fun venues, some giveaways and of course to have a raffle.
We were anxious yet excited preparing for the workshop. We’ve had 2 events under our belt but a workshop was a bit different. We’re thankful though to those who attended and hope we were able to impart applicable knowledge. Seeing some of your posts though I see we have and it really gives us happiness.
AM Session
Mela Sison, Marketing Manager of Raintree Restaurants
Ultimately, this was only made possible with the generosity of our venues, Museum Cafe/Kabila and Saboten. They provided the most ideal venues possible providing natural light as needed for the workshop and food for our demos and subjects.
These restaurants are under Raintree Restaurants that have a unique collection of specialty quick and full service resataurants. Kabila provided our attendees with traditional Filipino dishes but with a twist. Have you ever tried Pancit Tinta or Jackfruit Sansrival Cake? At Saboten we were treated to their Sharing Sets and also had a try of their Kids Set. By far my favorite, still a kid at heart!
We had 2 sessions with the AM session at Museum Cafe/Kabila in Greenbelt 4 and the PM session at Saboten. As attendees registered they received giveaways from our generous sponsors. We also had our raffle prizes from Henry’s Professional and Gouache on hand. As you can see from the photo above we were provided a projector and screen through the generosity of NT Audio Prime.
Using equipment from Henry’s Professional for the demos and practice
Henry’s Professional was kind enough to lend us their top of the line equipment for our demos and practice sessions. Joy was really excited about the macro lens they lent us which gave us superb shots.
Joy has been a photographer for quite some time and has invested in her craft. She is an avid fan of Japan Home Centre for props she uses in her images so we decided to collaborate with them. We chose some items from their store for the attendees to practice with. Attendees also received GCs as a token.
Many topics were covered during the workshop and most from Joy’s own experience in learning. She shared so many tips that the attendees went home armed with renewed inspiration.

PM Session
Our PM session was at Saboten in Glorietta 5 just a short walk from Museum Cafe/Kabila. We were very late for this and were feeling horrified but our attendees were so understanding. We didn’t have a projector for this session as the gigantic screen just wouldn’t fit. Joy had to do it on her own but she did it amazingly.

Saboten is a family and kid friendly restaurant. Big thumbs up for their Kid’s Set which has a Tenderloin Cutlet, Crab Cream Croquette, French Fried Potatoes and Orange Juice.

My big helper for the day. I can always rely on her to handle tasks with minimal to no direction. So proud of her!
