Royal Carribean Jamaican Patties

Posted on

I was invited to try the food at Royal Carribean Jamaican Patties and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I found myself in Fort Bonifacio with Jael and my mom.

Located at the 5th floor of Market Market! near the cinemas and games area, they have a quaint spot with suitable seating. They also have a couple of tables right in front which is ideal for families having a quick snack as the kids play.

They have a booth in the back for larger groups. The interior definitely has that Jamaican vibe with all the colors that represent the island theme.

I was excited to try their specialties and so I went for their best selling Jamaican patty, the Cheeze Burst Royale (mild). I’m not much of a spicy person and this can also be ordered with no chili or mild hot.

This particular Jamaican patty was satisfactory. I didn’t find it hot at all and the cheese was just an adequate amount.

The other patties that they offer are filled with beef and variations of it going from no chili to extra hot. It’s pretty affordable only being Php45 for the beef and Php58 for the cheese variety.

I also ordered the Baked Macaroni and really enjoyed this. It’s a good sized serving for only Php55. Very cheesy although best to get it when newly baked.

I enjoyed their premium beverages and though their bestseller was the Red Raspberry Tea, Four Seasons was more delicious for me.

Aside from their Hot | Fast Patties they have Premium Patties offering Chicken Royale, Tuna Royale and Vegetable Supreme.

If you’re looking for a sweet fix they have other items on their menu such as Smoothies, Milkshakes, Ice Cream, and Cookies.

Makati Restaurant Tour: Terraz Bistro and Meetings

Posted on

On our second part of the Makati Restaurant Tour we headed over to the Zuellig building to experience modern comfort cuisine that Terraz Bistro and Meetings is known for. I was markedly impressed with not only the food but the ambiance and down to earth Head Chef Arnold who we were able to meet.

Terraz Bistro and Meetings is a hidden delight and can be found on the 3rd floor of the controversial high rise building which has spectacular views of central Makati.

DSC02372 rs

The relaxed atmosphere and well lit bistro with scenic views will most probably have you experiencing long lunches and late dinners. You can’t help but feel relaxed in such an environment.

DSC02375 rs Within their restaurant you will also find 6 conference rooms perfect for meetings, social events and luncheons. DSC02380 rsWe were a lucky bunch to be having lunch at such an upscale restaurant and my eyes, mouth and stomach were indeed treated to a feast.

Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna

The ahi tuna was immensely soft and delicious. The greens, beets and cherry tomatoes gave it that extra flavor. DSC02400 rs

Terraz Chef Salad

I have to say that all the meat in their dishes were cooked just right. Another example is the roast beef in this salad with a perfect topping of bacon, egg and ham. DSC02406 rs

Truffled Herb Chicken and Creamy Mushroom

I’ll probably name almost every dish in this post as a favorite but indeed this pasta dish was so creamy and the chicken so flavorful. DSC02414 rs

Simple Saffron Spaghetti

I wasn’t as impressed with this Saffron Spaghetti but don’t get me wrong, if you’re craving for some home made pasta with asparagus and spinach then definitely this is the dish for you. DSC02418 rs

Merlot Braised Veal Cheeks

I enjoyed the garlic potatoes and crisp veggies in this dish. DSC02423 rs

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallion & Foie Gras

Probably my second favorite dish. Bacon, pork, potatoes… Perfect combination. DSC02435 rs

Buttered Tilapia Saltimbocca

The creamy mustard sauce and buttered tilapia are an enticing blend of flavors. DSC02442 rs

Spicy Terraz Corned Beef Adobo

The corned beef was so perfectly cooked, so tender and so rich. Literally, it feels like it’s melting in your mouth. DSC02444 rs

Pan-Seared Boneless Chicken Cream Emince

Another favorite, pan seared chicken, baked potato with a drizzle of creamy mushroom sauce. DSC02447 rs

Makati Restaurant Tour: Museum Cafe

Posted on

It was a privilege to be part of the Makati Restaurant Tour organized by Will Garcia of Will Explore Philippines. Together with Raintree Restaurants 20 bloggers were invited to experience their delectable cuisine.

I had the pleasure of dining in 2 of Raintree Restauarants establishments and Museum Cafe is the first that I’ll be featuring.

Museum Cafe also known as M Cafe offers modern Asian cuisine and is conveniently located at the Ayala Museum Complex on the corner of Makati Ave and Dela Rosa Street (right next to Greenbelt 2). They have an al fresco dining area where there’s a bar.

DSC02366 rs Inside, the space is shared with another restaurant from the Raintree family, Kabila. Seating is adequate enough though I can imagine the place quickly filing up in the evenings and on weekends. The interior has unique pieces such as these. museum-cafe Since it was the first restaurant we were having breakfast. They offered us plenty of dishes to try. We started off with some dimsum, noodles and congee.

I enjoyed the beef congee and though the chicken noodles look like a fuller meal the beef congee has more flavor. As for the dimsum, I preferred the Crystal Prawn Dumplings to the Flower Siu Mai

Another breakfast favorite, pancakes and waffles. These were topped with fruits such as ripe mango, watermelon and granny apple slices and served with maple syrup, butter and peanut butter. Both are yummy and I like the whipped cream and fruits combo!

Crystal Jade Greenhills: A Shanghai Delight

Posted on

Blogging has brought me plenty of opportunities I wouldn’t ordinarily get and one of these was a chance to try a dimsum buffet at Crystal Jade Greenhills. I was invited along with other bloggers and my blogger friend Jamie of Have at You to try their special offering.

It’s actually on it’s 2nd run as they had offered it in August. It was immensely successful so they decided to offer it for just one more month so don’t miss out!

Indeed, I was treated to an afternoon of rich and savory flavors. My take on the food will be one of a “newbie” since I rarely eat this type of cuisine. Hopefully, this helps fellow newbies in deciding what to eat when visiting Crystal Jade Greenhills.

Pork Dumpling with Hot Chili Sauce

Surprisingly, this wasn’t as spicy as I would have thought. In general, I liked the dumplings and of all I really enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao (scroll down for a close up look)

Another personal favorite are shrimp rolls, I found these to be alright in taste and crunchy!

DSC02139 rs

Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumpling with Crab Roe “Siew Mai”

Otherwise known as “siomai”, I thought this was also satisfying. It makes for a good addition to your meal.

DSC02197 rs

Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling “Xiao Long Bao”

I was really intrigued with this and Jamie explained one of the best ways of eating it. Which would be popping it so it will open and then sucking the soup out. I’m coming back for more of this as this was one of the best dishes that I tried.

Another favorable dish with well cooked spareribs.

Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Beans Sauce

I’m not as adventurous as I should be so I didn’t try the chicken feet. I really don’t eat these types of food but if you enjoy innards and all that “yummy” stuff then most likely you’ll enjoy this.

DSC02169 rs

Pan-fried Carrot Cake with Dried Shrimp & Preserved Meat

I liked this and Mr Kenneth also called it a radish cake. It’s pretty heavy but very yummy.

Chef’s Recommendations (Hot Dishes)

The Dimsum Buffet is priced at only Php488+/head and for only a Php100 more you can add a serving of one Chef’s Recommendation dish and fried rice. You’ll also get unlimited free flowing iced or hot tea.

Although, it’s a an unsaid rule to stay away from rice when at a buffet I couldn’t resist eating some of the fried rice. I’m a big fried rice lover and enjoyed the Fried Rice with Chicken and Ham.

Dessert

DSC02201 rs

Taro Pastry (coming soon!)

What a treat! We were given an exclusive try of their “still in the works” dessert, a Taro pastry. I hope they put it on the menu soon because I enjoyed it very much.

Subway Philippines

Posted on

I have been wanting to eat at Subway Philippines for the longest time but I just never had the chance to. Thanks to Cignal TV and Disney XD I was able to try their food!

We were at SM Megamall for a Meet and Greet Spiderman event and afterwards we headed over to Subway conveniently located right in the area of the Activity Center. It’s next to Toy Kingdom so you can’t miss it!

DSC01561 rs

Before I ordered, I watched one of the pleasant staff work her magic on the sandwiches. They’re very helpful and assist you in making your sandwich.

Subway has quite a selection of sandwiches and since we were going to order for 3 we tried 3 different kinds. We chose Tuna (Php120), Roasted Chicken (Php120) and B.L.T. (Php105) Yum!

DSC01568 rs

1

Our meal stubs included drinks and dessert! We got to try their famous cookies and we went for Double Choco and Chocolate and got a bag of Cheetos, too.

DSC01564 rs

DSC01580 rs

DSC01548 rs

I favored the B.L.T. while Kianna liked the Tuna.

DSC01557 rs

Jael enjoyed the bag of chips and the cookies.
DSC01573 rs
DSC01571 rs

Definitely, we’re going back for more because I want to try the Steak and Cheese, Roast Beef , and the Subway Club and Melt. Those look mouthwatering!

Did you know that Subway caters? They have Sub platters perfect for any occasion. They also have a breakfast offering mainly composed of egg, cheese and ham. Make it a meal just by adding Php30.00.
