Good Housekeeping and 3M Command Brand: “Get Hooked on DIY” Event

Posted on

It was another wonderful Sunday afternoon attending the Get Hooked on DIY event courtesy of Good Housekeeping and 3M Command Brand Philippines at SM Megamall. I was excited to attend the event which was hosted by Angel Jacob and included a workshop, activities, games and a personal appearance by Team Kramer.

I’ve been a big believer and committed user of 3M products from their post it notes to their tapes and even to their band aids. We were introduced to their product line Command Brand which has solutions for every part of your home. Their line consists of a full range of products:

  • General Hooks
  • Decorative and Metal Hooks
  • Picture and Frame Hangers
  • Organization Products
  • Bath Products
  • Cord Organization

In place of drilling and hammering we have a much easier and simpler solution for hanging pictures, clothing and basically most anything that needs hanging!

The workshop by blogger Connie Tejada gave some great tips and ideas to use your Command Brand hooks. From party decors to bathroom caddies, it’s easier and safer to use these 3M products.

They also had booths where you could test out the products and a board where you could leave a special message.

We recently started beautifying our home and this was a timely event and product for us. I got a wonderful tip for my son’s basketball board. Right now it’s hanging on a regular hook and isn’t straight against the door. With the Command Brand hooks and tip I got from the event I’ll be able to hang the board straight against the door while keeping the hook out of sight.

Living in a condo we have to maximize our space by hanging things on the wall and I’ve been very weary to do that because our walls were recently painted (by us!).

Watching a video of how to put up and remove the 3M Command hooks I’m now happy to put up picture frames and my memo board! This is my next project which truth be told has been on the back burner for about 4 months. My dilemma was how I was going to put it up without destroying my wall and now I can! Watch out for that post soon!

Team Kramer graced the event and as brand ambassadors and faithful users of the 3M Command Brand products, they shared their experiences, some tips and even gave us a look into their personal life. Doug and Cheska Kramer brought their adorable daughter, Kendra who immediately stole the show. She was so cute applying make up, jumping into the conversation and dancing.

I’m really happy that Good Housekeeping has started workshops such as this and hope they continue with more ideas that we can apply for our homes.

ASCOF Lagundi Naturalista Moms: A Garden Affair

Posted on

I first heard about ASCOF Lagundi, an herbal medicine approved by the FDA from my mom. She highly recommends it as she has had a few coughing bouts and was always quickly relieved and cured by ASCOF.

After my mom’s recommendation I started taking their cough medicine and I found that it did quickly cure us of our cough. Nowadays, moms like me are very proactive in considering organic or herbal medicines for their children. Joining the natural elements of ASCOF and the natural instincts of a mom’s love and nurturing we are Naturalista Moms who only want the safest remedy for our children.

Natural remedies have always been recommended and now that the lagundi leaf has scientifically been proven to cure a cough without side effects it’s the natural way to go. It’s also recommended by most doctors only further proving its effectiveness and worth.

Since ASCOF is made from lagundi leaves they’re free from chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This guarantees no side effects and there’s no risk of an overdose. It comes in syrup form for kids and young adults and tablet and capsule form for adults.

A product of Pascual Laboratories, it can put an end to mild to moderate coughs by dissolving the phlegm, loosening the air passage, and preventing allergic reactions.

ASCOF is effective because of Chrysoplenol D (a smooth muscle relaxant & anti-histamine) and Luteolin & Isoorientin (anti-histamines). Initial relief can be experienced as early as after 30 minutes from drinking and complete relief within 1-2 days. Having worked in a call center and having frequent coughing episodes this is a rather quick timeline for relief. I would be prescribed different cough medicines and relief would only come after 2 weeks.

To further learn about ASCOF Lagundi and its benefits Kianna and I attended an event courtesy of ASCOF Lagundi and Nuffnang Philippines. We were very excited for a day that promised green activities, food from Earth Kitchen and an appearance by Carmina Villaroel Legaspi to discuss being a Naturalista Mom and we were not disappointed.

We started by going around to the different areas displaying activities. The first was the Upcycle where they handed out kits that gave you used materials that you could use to make bracelets. We got tips to use such as saving unopened toothpicks from restaurants to use in arts and crafts projects.

Here’s the bracelet that Kianna made from the kit.

We then went to the Build Your Own Garden station where they were giving away plants such as Tarragon, Oregano and Basil. These plants are easy to maintain and only require minimal watering.

There was a Create Your Own Salad Bar serving various greens and organic salad dressings (Muscovada, Sesame and Balsamic).

The event was held at Earth Kitchen which had a calm and soothing vibe and music to go along with it. Their decor even speaks to the healthy, local and sustainable idea that they promote through their food and products.

We were served delicious food such as Spring Rolls, Organic Ifugao Rice Pillaf, and Risotto Balls to name a few.

The afternoon brought plenty of fun with a talk about the origins, benefits, and signs of an oncoming cough. We were entertained with a dance they taught us that showed how a cough progresses.

We also got to meet Naturalista mom Carmina Villaroel Legaspi and her two beautiful children, Cassy and Mavy. The forum was open for discussion and questions and they even entertained personal questions.

Manila Workshops: Make Your Own Kiddie Party

Posted on

My son, Bastian and I spent a great afternoon at Manila Workshop’s Make Your Own Kiddie Party. Held at the Insular Life Bldg in Makati City we had 4 hours of learning, fun and food! We were given insights, tips and tricks to creating our own budget friendly parties.

I was very much entertained by Ferdi Salazar and Czarina Ledesma of The Event Architects as they discussed party themes, inspiration boards, budgeting even down to their recommended suppliers. Having handled affairs for Lancôme, Clear, Cosmopolitan, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, and Louis Vuitton as well as personal functions for Sarah Meier and Tim Yap we were definitely getting our money’s worth.

We got out our creativity gloves out when we were asked to group ourselves and create a party design on the tables. This is what our group came up with. Our idea was inspired from the movie and book Little Miss Sunshine.

This was the the other winner which had a “Honeymoon/ Marriage” theme.
