It was such a treat attending the Frabelle and Mommy Bloggers Philippines Bento Workshop. The kids who attended were thrilled to receive toys from Richwell and Jael was given a Mega Bloks Spongebob Squarepants Build It Set.

Unboxing the Mega Bloks Spongebob Squarepants Invisible Boatmobile Rescue

As soon as we got home he asked if we could put it together. This is where I saw how different it is for kids and parents. After saying yes, I tried to strategize how best to piece them all together. Jael on the other hand wanted to rip everything open.

It’s times like these that I have to remember that it’s not about getting it right but letting him learn and enjoy. It can be a toughie sometimes!

The toy is just right for Jael’s age. The parts are small though and it takes some force to put the pieces together so it’s better to have a parent or older sibling helping out.

There are 8 packs in the box and believe it or not it’s not organized by part or piece. Everything is mixed up so we ended up opening up all the packs anyway!

It’s always important to read the instructions. That’s what I teach the kids because self learning even by just assembling a toy can also be a small lesson in independence.

The instructions for this are pretty straightforward. They show you exactly where each piece belongs. The parts are small however so it’s best to have a box or container ready for after it’s put together.

Here we are! Spongebob, Patrick and Plankton in their boat mobiles. These Mega Blok toys are excellent becasue the end result has some pretty cool features.

The transparent boatmobile Patrick is driving has side wings that flap. The one Plankton is driving has an excavator that goes up and down. The piece Jael liked the best is the fishnet type apparatus that can fling jellyfish.
