We took a trip to the new and improved Manila Zoo! We went on a weekday to avoid the crowds and traffic. Arriving at 10am the crowd was sparse. By the time we left at around 12:30pm there were more people but not at all crowded.
Before we get into it, I wanted to also share the online booking process. It was very smooth and easy. I only had a bit of trouble in getting the QR codes for the tickets I purchased.
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with the QR code. If it doesn’t work to click on it, copy paste the link into the browser to get your QR code.
You can purchase your tickets here: https://www.manilazoo.ph/book-appointment
Open Mondays- Sundays | Zoo hours: 9AM-6PM
It’s fairly easy to trek the entire zoo and we were done in a little over 2 hours having seen all the sections. I didn’t go to the bathrooms myself but my eldest said it was clean. The food court has a good enough selection of food some being Famous Belgian Waffle, Turks Shawarma, Master Siomai, and a Tender Juicy hotdog cart. There are also selections of sizzling plates, milk teas, and dimsum.
There are enough animals to see and learn about however some of the slated animals weren’t present such as the giraffe, hyena and hippo. Here are some of the animals we saw in their various habitats.
We dined at The Aviary Cafe having cake and iced drinks. There was only one other table occupied since it was a weekday.
We also ordered: Espresso- Php105 | Iced Chocolate- Php169 | Iced Matcha- Php169 | Chocolate Chip Cookie- Php100 | Bottled Water- Php30
Entering the monkey habitat located near this playground, you’ll have to pay Php20 for a pair of sock scrubs.
Lastly, we made wishes here at the Money Tree waterfall.
We couldn’t leave without getting a remembrance at the souvenir shop. The items are a bit limited and I feel like some of the stuffed toys could be brought from Ikea but it’s the fun of it and the fact that it’s from the zoo that makes it worthwhile getting.
