I’m 40! Turning 40 was so much more fun and happy than I expected it to be. There was a bit of hesitation, doubt, awkwardness, and sadness as my 40th birthday neared. Of course, I also felt excitement and was proud to reach this age. Although, I’m a single mother of 3 at 40 I still try and look on the bright side of things as much as possible. Despite being single in love I’m wonderfully fulfilled with family and friendships.

Case in point, my Fab@40 Birthday Surprise SPArty! I had always been part of the planning for other people when it came to occasions such as baby showers, bridal showers, etc. To have a party thrown just for me was so overwhelming.

The scenario: My super fun and funny friend Rose asked me to go out and have a mani pedi on my birthday and since I didn’t have any plans on my birthday itself I said Yes! We went to Asia’s Lashes Tomas Morato and I was totally clueless. I was surprised when people on my right side started coming out and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun started playing! Out popped my closest friends Joan, Reja, Euan and Kianna! Yes, she was in on it. I’ve known these ladies since we all worked at a call center from 2007-2011.

I was thankful I had dressed up! I told myself that I was going to be at my prettiest on my birthday and good thing since I had a surprise like this.

My surprise party turned out to be a SPArty, something I’ve always wanted to do. Asia’s Lashes Tomas Morato had helped set up the decor and it was really a girly night complete with 80’s themed decorations cake, cupcakes, and music. My friends really went all out. I seriously could not have better friends. This spa/salon is definitely the perfect place for parties and special occasions.

Look at how awesome my cake and cupcakes were! They were both ordered through Masexy Cups. Special thanks to my dear friend Nino! I love love love the 80’s theme, too!

We all got some pampering love and had manis and pedis done. I felt especially regal and pretty sitting in the chair reserved for the queen of the day.

Two of my closest friends couldn’t join us at the surprise party, Jenan and Nino. My heart literally swelled when we did a video call.

My super sexy friend Jenan, couldn’t be there. We’d been friends since 2007 and she’s one of the closest people to me. I’m goddaughter to Jenan’s daughter and she’s currently having some health problems. My one wish is to see her healed and I hope all of you guys pray for her as well.

Nino, my other super sexy friend is in Canada and stole a few moments away from work to greet me. Love you Nino!

I was in spa heaven at Asia’s Lashes Tomas Morato. My attendant was super nice and also very skilled. She also asked me about my ingrown first before anything else which I really appreciated. I had a rather traumatic experience previously where I had said I didn’t want it removed but she still did. Attentiveness and consideration are really important in making sure a customer is a happy one.

I had so much fun choosing my nail and toe colors. My mani and pedi were done so well that they were still full, pretty and bright even after 2 weeks.

My 40th birthday was truly a memorable one. It’s the best birthday I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much to my dear friends for making it happen!
