Bastian’s senior high graduation was on his birthday and since it was a double celebration I asked him where he wanted to go. He immediately said Soru Izakaya. Knowing Bastian and his diverse taste I knew he’d suggest something that we as a family wouldn’t ordinarily go to.
Bastian has kind of been cheated on his birthdays because it always fell right before the new school year, often his celebrations would be simple. This year, I made sure to make it a little extra special.
Soru Izakaya is located at 140 Maginhawa St, Quezon City. There’s parking in front of the restaurant but we also had a bit of an experience. My brother who had gone with us to Bastian’s graduation had parked the car with the trunk to the street. I had needed to withdraw across the street and on my way back to the restaurant I saw a group of men crowding around the back. I saw one of the men try to pop open the trunk. Bastian had gone with me to withdraw and when I saw the guy I asked him what he was doing. I called the guard who seemed to be in charge on the parking area to let him know. So parking wise just make sure you’re alert and ask the guard to look after your car.
It was weekday at just about after lunch and so the place was almost empty. The good thing about dining at Soru Izakaya is that I had Php300 off with Booky! Stroke of luck one would say.

We each ordered dishes and as an afterthought we had asked if they had a birthday promo. Sure enough they did. Depending on your usual appetite we all agreed that the servings were more than enough for one person.

The service itself was also satisfactory. I only had to remind them about the Booky discount but other than that all was well. The comfort room is well lit and also airy (no odors to turn your appetite down).
We had a very filling dining experience and highly recommend Soru Izakaya!
