Mommy Bloggers Philippines Christmas Party 2018: A Movie Themed Party at ICON Hotel Timog

It’s Mommy Bloggers Philippines 5th year to celebrate Christmas together and I think it’s the best year yet. We ventured out of our comfort zones and went for a movie themed party. I look forward to the party every year because I get to hang out with mommy blogger friends. Lani, Joy and I had only about a month and a half to work on it and miraculously we were able to put it together.

We were blessed to be able to collaborate with ICON Hotel Timog as our official partner venue providing their function room and menu. As an events specialist in both the corporate world in my previous life and as a blogger today the 3 things I focus on are the venue, food and styling. I was lucky enough to collaborate once again with Buzy Bee Bouquet and Balloons for our styling of the venue. The party was festive and helped lend to the holiday cheer of our humble mommy blogger Christmas Party.

The first time I worked with Buzy Bee Balloons and Bouquet I was very particular and hands on wanting a certain style and outcome. This time around I gave them our theme and let them work their magic and boy did they come up with an excellent design.

The little touches were wonderful and I even had a star on there! With ICON Hotel Timog providing a red carpet we had the theme down pat.

Joy carefully chose the menu and I feel bad I wasn’t able to taste it because of hosting duties but I really just don’t function well during events because of anxiety. I heard plenty of compliments about the food and the dessert! ICON Hotel Timog has an in house restaurant where they serve these very dishes.

Every year, we look forward to mingling and catching up with these gorgeous mommies. We also try to provide a venue and setting where they can kick back and relax. Thank you so much to these mommies for attending and being such good sports. Every one of them came in an inspired movie themed costume which made the whole celebration a success.

One of the games we played was Pass the Mystery Envelope. I really enjoy facilitating this game. The moms started out strong and chanting along but at the end you could clearly hear the tired voices. It was well worth it though for those who were lucky enough to get prizes.

We also had a Family Feud inspired game that was facilitated by Lani which the mommies also enjoyed playing.

The Best Dressed Mommies and ICONic Look of the night contests were the highlight of the event. The ICON Hotel Timog team chose the 10 best dressed mommies who would later do a catwalk for a chance to be one of the 3 winning best dressed mommies and the ICONic Look of the Night. I was surprised to be included in the Top 10.

Initially, I wanted to come as Sandy from Grease, the bad girl version. However, I was on a tight budget and lacked time to come up with the black leather ensemble. My next bet was the Flashdance costume. The more I thought about it the more I knew that this was perfect for me.

The mommies were game for a catwalk and it was really one of the best parts of the party. The support of all the mommies in the audience really boosted confidence and we were able to walk the red carpet. Yes, including me! Thank you One Proud Momma (Eihdra Gatchalian) for capturing this moment!

From 10 to 4 mommies. These mommies won the coveted Best Dressed award receiving GCs and gift baskets from Robinsons Supermarket.

The ICONic Look of the night was none other than my good friend the R0ckstarM0mma, Michelle. She outdid everyone in her Wonder Woman costume. She won a staycation for 2 at ICON Hotel Timog.

Luck shined on Mommy Lally as she won the major raffle prize, a 32″ LED TV sponsored by Pampers.

My right hand girl, my gorgeous daughter Kianna has always been someone I can reply on at my events. She’s a born leader and has the initiative and determination needed to carry through on responsibilities. Since I was the host for the party I wasn’t able to focus on the other parts but Kianna really came through for me. Proud mom moment.

We always try to make sure that the mommies are showered with gifts from supportive brands we’ve worked with. We’re very lucky in that respect to have gained their trust and confidence. Thank you to all the brands that supported us!
