It’s always those places that are a pleasant surprise that become the most memorable. From the outside, Hotel Benilde is a modest building situated in Malate, Manila. Walking into the hotel you instantly notice a subtle elegance which improves as you go through it’s hallways finally reaching its rooms.
Its central location makes it convenient for its guests to get to key destinations in Manila. It’s a hotel for families seeking a weekend stay or week long accommodations. It’s perfect for both business and casual travelers who want to experience and enjoy the nightlife district.
Some of the amenities include a 24-hour business center, complete meeting services, and high-speed Wi-Fi access for its corporate guests.
Function rooms for all types of events are on the 2nd floor. The whole floor can accommodate an occasion up to 300pax.
Guests can enjoy a dip in the plunge pool, exercise in the gym, or dine at Hotel Benilde Maison De la Salle’s onsite restaurant, Cafe Romacon or its rooftop resto, Vatel.
The hotel has its usual offerings of suites and rooms but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the improvements made have greatly elevated the elegance of the hotel’s features and amenities from its decor to cozy furnishings. Each room is refurbished with a 40-inch LED Smart TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access (80mbps), and an automated service-calling system.
I was particularly attracted to the warm and soft lighting which instantly lulls and sets the tone for your stay, mainly a comfortable and peaceful one.
They have rooms for those with disabilities having such features such as 2 peepholes, square tables and the hotel can also provide wheelchairs if needed.

Their in house restaurant, Cafe Romancon (pronounced Ro-man-son) offers fine Italian cuisine by Chef Rodelio Tugguib. For conservative eaters the portions are good enough for two.
Their desserts were a treat. Each one specially served but most notable was the Sizzling Brownies which was served on a hot plate and poured with warm milk. Don’t leave without trying the Ensaimada.
