One of my longtime passions, arts and crafts has spurred me to create a Chocolate Advent Calendar. I like having little surprises for my kids and this is what I decided to do this year. We love sweets at home and so this was perfect for the holidays.
I first researched how to make boxes that had an easy open lid. I made use of red, green and yellow poster paper and constructed 24 boxes. Then I glued the boxes to one another and created a pyramid style tower.
Usually, I have a design in mind but sometimes I change it at the last minute depending on the materials I have. I happened to have Christmas gift cards and decided to use those as my design. Then I wrote numbers on the visible boxes with a gold marker.
The challenge to my Chocolate Advent Calendar box is that the boxes I made were small so the chocolates I needed to had to be small. I’ve got quite a few more days but love that the kids have a sweet surprise every morning.

OMG! This is the best and most brilliant way to make a countdown or advent calendar. I am going to do this next year. This is just so amazing, fun and yummy. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I am so excited right now. I will keep in mind to consider the box sizes for the stuff I plan to put. 🙂
Hope you can share your creation with me. Would love to see it!
