Scan and Enjoy Surprises at the Q Art Exhibit at SM City Fairview

SM City Fairview has launched its Q Art Exhibit using QR code technology. If you’re not familiar with QR codes, they’re matrix bar codes that can be read using a QR Code reader or scanner app on your smart phone. Once scanned, information encoded in the QR code pops up on your phone. You’ve probably seen them on business cards and products.

The exhibit located at the atrium is an attractive one and you’ll see plenty of people taking selfies and group shots because of the pretty pastel set up.

SM Supermalls Group Marketing Manager Jay M.Aranas conceptualized this innovative exhibit with the idea of giving us a fun way to discover shops in the mall and get some exciting freebies just by scanning the codes. With over 200 codes in the exhibit you can scan anything from helpful tips, sale alerts to hugot lines.

SM City Fairview is the first mall to showcase informative content such as escalator etiquette to sale alerts and promos. Customers get to enjoy special treats just by scanning these QR codes which can be found in various places in the mall and in the different art installations at the atrium.

One of the codes I scanned gave me this sweet surprise! I got a Free Clasicos Jr from La Lola Churreria! When you get a freebie such as this just make sure to screen capture it or save it as a picture so you can present it when you claim.

All I had to do to claim it was show my screenshot of the freebie and sign for it. Voila! Free Clasicos Jr for me to enjoy!

As explained by Ms Kat Dionisio, SM City Fairview Marketing Manager, SM is always coming up with ways to engage its customers and this exhibit is a perfect example. Families will have a fun time hunting down the freebies while enjoying funny images, hugot lines and informative content about SM.
