What constitutes a perfect weekend? Well, for me it’s spending time in a comfortable and relaxing place with my kids and I did just that at Hotel Jen Manila. It was an early Mother’s Day celebration in a 4 star hotel in a cozy premiere suite on the 18th floor. Located on Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City, Philippines it’s a mere 20 minutes away from the airports and 30 minutes to the Makati Business District.
My kids and I were so psyched to be spending a weekend away. They were looking forward to the fast and free Wi-Fi and outdoor swimming pool while I could not wait to get an hour long massage.
Hotel Jen offers plenty in the way of amenities:
Fast and free WiFi everywhere | Outdoor swimming pool | 24-hour fully-equipped fitness centre | Global and local dining options | 24-hour in-room Order-In | Massage treatments | Exclusive Club Lounge benefits | Free shuttle service to Mall of Asia
Reception and Lobby
Hotel Room
Premier Suite
The Premiere Suite is a sizeable 72sqm having a separate living area, guest bathroom and main bathroom and a walk in closet. Being billeted on the 18th floor we had panoramic views of Manila Bay and the cityscape.
We were provided an ultra comfy king-sized bed and extra bed. Kianna, Jael and I took the king sized bed while Bastian settled into the separate bed.
Cleanliness is key in any hotel stay. I have to say Hotel Jen Manila is impeccable when it comes to a clean room, bed and sheets and bathroom. The carpet was vacuumed, surfaces dusted and a neutral air.
Other amenities include:
iPod dock | CD / DVD entertainment system | 37-inch interactive cable television | Satellite/cable television | International direct dialling service | Full-size executive writing desk | Voice mail | Computer data port | 220 VAC universal outlet | Electronic safe to protect anything precious | 24-hour in-room Order-In for whenever you’re feeling peckish | Tea station | Complimentary freshly brewed coffee via coffee machines, which are available in all Suites | Refrigerator | Mini bar | Free mineral water | Smart en-suite bathroom with bathtub | Hairdryer
For some the bathroom is not an essential part of a staycation. For me it is. This bathroom was clean all around, had toiletries and sufficient towels. There’s a bidet, beauty mirror and shower outside of the bathtub.
Hotel Room Amenities
Since we were expecting a night of movies and TV I brought along some popcorn. The hotel service was kind enough to accept our request to have the popcorn popped. We did have the popcorn but conked out before we could settle on a marathon. The bed was just too comfortable not to fall asleep in! The personalized pillows were a nice touch.
Kianna and I had a funny moment as we tried to figure out the coffee machine. We were so inept we had to call the hotel service. In the end Kianna got her coffee and we both had a great laugh.
Swimming Pool
Paseo del Sol on the third floor houses two swimming pools. The main swimming pool having levels of 4, 5, and 7 feet and the kiddie pool at just 2 feet. Two lifeguards were stationed by the pools. Guests were served slices of watermelon.
Lobby, Club Lounge, Gym & Play Zone
The Club Lounge is on the 19th floor, Gym on the 3rd floor and the Play Zone on the ground floor next to the main entrance.
Guests can stay at the Club Lounge where they can take in the sights, have some cocktails and lounge around. The gym is open 24-hours but you must be in proper gym attire. Kids can play at the Play Zone that’s open during brunch on Sundays. There’s face painting, balloon making, toys and movies.
Breakfast Buffet
We had the option of having breakfast at the Club Lounge or Latitude and we chose the Club Lounge for the view and proximity since we were just on the 18th floor. One of the challenges of our stay was trying to control our eating. Between lunch at Kitsho, a well prepared dinner by Chef Sonny, a breakfast buffet and brunch at Latitude there was truly a smorgasbord of food. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning with all the breakfast food on display.
Mother’s Day Celebration
The first part of my Mother’s Day celebration was an hour long Fitness massage (Php600) by Karen. It was a soothing massage and I couldn’t help but fall asleep halfway through.
We had dinner in a specially decorated Paseo del Sol specially prepared by Chef Sonny. Dining al fresco despite it being summer was relaxing and breezy. We had our fill of spare ribs, chicken, seafood and more.
After dinner we came back to the room and I found a touching gesture! Hotel Jen Manila prepared a sweet surprise for Mother’s Day.
As our family slowly adapts to a new dynamic these memories and experiences further bond us together. A weekend getaway in a hotel like Hotel Jen Manila will give you just the break you need.

Hotel Jen looks very cozy. I rarely find family rooms with bathtubs so this is a good choice for guests who prefer to spend their staycation in Manila. And it’s always good to have a break and best if it’s with your family. Happy Mother’s Day!
Looks so posh! I’m always looking for possible staycations in Manila, so it’s nice to know about Hotel Jen Manila. Plus points for the rooftop pool. 🙂 Also, the Mother’s Day gift is a touching gesture indeed.
Such a beautiful hotel! I’m sure you had a great stay! I’ve been actively searching for good hotels around Metro Manila to use for our wedding preps, and madalas ko naririnig tong Hotel Jen! 😀 Happy Mother’s day! 😀
I still haven’t slept at Hotel Jen Manila, but I’m excited to sleep soon. The room looks wonderful and I’m sure I’ll end up sleeping a lot. Hotel Jen Manila was gracious enough to make my birthday wonderful by surprising me with a cake. So, yes, their service is really awesome!
