Summer is filled with so many activities for kids and families and one workshop we thoroughly enjoyed was the Brotzeit Junior Chef at Work baking workshop. I told Jael we would be attending and that he would get a chance to bake. We hadn’t done anything like this before so he was both excited and curious.
Mommy Bloggers Philippines and Brotzeit collaborated on a special baking session for its mommy members and their kids. Held on May 4 at their Shangri-La branch, we mommies gathered for a fun and light afternoon of fun.
The Brotzeit Junior Chef at Work baking workshop is offering baking sessions every Saturday of May. Kids can learn how to make Fladen, Cookies, and Pretzels. It’s an exciting experience for kids and each session comes with an apron, cooking tools, and a certificate. They also get to taste and bring home the products they made.
The session included baking Cheese Brezn (Bavarian Cheese Pretzels) and a refreshing drink. All ingredients and materials are provided so all you have to do is bring yourselves when you join a workshop.
As you can see, Jael enjoyed getting his hands into everything and playing with the dough.
Chef Ivan was the perfect instructor being friendly to the kids and helping them when needed. He made pretzel making look easy! It wasn’t!
I loved spending time with Jael making pretzels. His little arms had a tough time rolling the dough so I helped him out a bit.
The almost finished product! Now off to the oven!
While we waited for the pretzels to bake, the kids were taught how to make an easy and refreshing drink just by combining juices.
Jael was thrilled when he saw his pretzels and couldn’t believe he made them. The pretzels were delicious! You can eat it plain or have it with some dip. Jael wanted to share it with his daddy, Kuya and Ate and of course his Lola.
He earned a certificate for joining the workshop.
After the workshop we had a snack of Brotzeit’s yummy pizza on a thin rye crust.
The kids got a special token from Toy Kingdom which included a cooking set, Mickey Mouse key chain and a Snoopy bag tag just in time for the coming school year!
The mommies took home a special set of dishwashing liquid from Cusina Home. Organically made dishwashing liquid with unique fruity scents.
Watch a snippet of the baking workshop and see how much fun Jael had.

Just by looking at your Jael says he did enjoy his short yet fun stint as a junior chef. The workshop was indeed fun. So many learning, too.
Oh what a fun activity. My little boy loves to eat and would definity enjoy making his own treat. The kids look like they were having fun time too.
I’ve read the stories of the other moms who joined this and they seem to all have had fun. Sayang talaga we missed this. That pizza, by the way, looks yummy!
Too bad we missed that fladen. Looks yum! We truly had a great time there too! 🙂
It looks like the kids (as well as the mommies) had a lot of fun in this workshop. I love bringing my son to events where he gets to have fun and learn at the same time.
Seems like you really had fun and the pretzel looks delicious!
aw!!! so cute naman! I bet they enjoyed their workshop and goodies! 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of posts about this! I wish I could join but my son is just barely 2 years old. Maybe next time 🙂
