My eldest has been into learning the ukulele lately and I’m glad I can help encourage him. Bastian has been learning quite a lot of songs. I love that he can play Dream a Little Dream of Me. He’s hoping to learn Dust in the Wind also. He’s self taught and just uses videos on YouTube as a guide.
One of the ways to further encourage him was to bring him to the Uke Box Caffe in Eastwood. I told him all about it and he was keen to visit. Since I was visiting a friend in the area I brought him along.
The cafe is located outside of Eastwood main but near enough to walk to and from. It was a Sunday and early at that so when we got there they had just opened.
The place is very bohemian, relaxing and colorful. They have many seats and areas to lounge in for hours.
They have seating at a 2nd level but this is open in the afternoons when there are more people. The place screams of comfort and relaxation.
There are ukuleles you can buy but you can also bring your own.
Since I’d be leaving him for a few hours he got some food and tried their iced drinks. Iced Mocha (Php155 & Carbonara Php250).
Bastian liked the ambiance and being in a music inspired cafe. He says though it would be much better with a friend along.
This summer the Uke Box Caffe has free weekend workshops. If you don’t have a ukulele and aren’t ready to buy one yet don’t worry you can rent one for the session.

Oh wow! Such a great place to take the kids! They will surely love the workshop too! Thanks for sharing!
I like songs that was turned into ukulele versions (if that’s how you call it hehe) because it’s really relaxing. There was also a time that I wanted to learn but then that didn’t happen because of reasons lol! But this cafe looks really cute! So perfect for ukulele lovers! 😉
their aglio olio is superb 🙂
Cutest cafe! Look at the interiors! A great backdrop for photo-op! My office is in Eastwood, must drop by here soon!
This cafe is in my to-go list for this year. Hehe. With this blog post, this place seems to be nice. I hope we are able to see this cafe soon and play ukelele.
This is so cute! I like the theme of this cafe and the way their chairs were done giving you that Bohemian feel. Super cute!
When i saw an arist playing ukelele, i was somehow inspired to learn too. I told myself its smaller than a guitar and it seems easy to learn. Perhaps busy schedule was the reason that until now, i havent learned a thing about ukelele. But i would love to visit the Uke Box Caffe and from there, i might as well revive the old interest.
Cool! My hubby would love this. He plays the guitar so he’d be really happy in a place like this.
Nice cafe! I admire people who opt to play the ukelele instead of guitar or violin. The ambiance is also very relaxing, nice to hangout with friends there. How’s the food though?
Hi Edel, My son enjoyed the food. He liked the pasta dish a lot.
ZOMG the place is so adorable! Fantastic learning experience for the kids, too!
So nice! I wonder at what age can one start learning the ukelele? I also wonder if my kids are into musical instruments. Hehe
Hi, I actually don’t know what age but I think as soon as there’s interest it’s alright. Especially since the ukelele is smaller.
How much is the rental fee for the ukulele? My son might be interested in the workshop.
Hi Tere, I’m not sure how much the rental is. Bastian brought his own ukelele when we went there.
OOH, i want to try this out! Super love the idea of the workshops.
I love concepts-resto like this. Will prolly be bringing once Baby Charley gets a little older. Thanks for sharing, Mommy. 🙂
Awww…if only it’s that easy for me to take the kids here and there. My eldest started on his guitar lessons with his dad but he’s not very interested in it right now. Maybe ukulele is a better option.
I love the way your blog looks. It’s clean, neat, and organized. It’s so refreshing in the eye, and it’s worth anyone’s time to read. Keep it up, mommy!
Thank you Arlene! 🙂
