The good old days of play seem to be a thing of the past but it doesn’t have to be! With summer well on its way, it’s the perfect chance for us moms to get the kids outside of the house and away from their gadgets.
With summer comes sun, fresh grass, and bursts of energy. And like any mom, I’m also hesitant when it comes to letting Jael play outside because it’s not the fight outside but the fight within our children’s bodies that we need to keep tabs on.
To ensure he’s healthy and protected each and every day, I give him a glass of NIDO 5+ twice a day. The mere fact that he likes to drink it and enjoys each glass puts my mind at ease. You see, with each glass he’s given superior protection that includes a Lactobacillus PROTECTUS component, which helps maintain balance in his tummy (that good ol’ good bacteria vs. bad bacteria battle) and strengthens his immune system. You can practically say, “Germs bring it on!”
If you want your kids to fully enjoy the summer, give these activities a try!
Playground
Ahh, the playground. The most classic of places for any kid to spend hours at a time. Sadly, you’ll see most playgrounds aren’t as full of kids as they once used to be. The playground is an excellent place for children to explore with their mind, their body and even their hearts. This is where you grapple on the monkey bars, swing yourself to high glory and even meet a new friend. Neighborhood playgrounds are the best because close bonds can be formed with neighboring kids.
Biking
This activity is best done on safe roads within subdivisions. I used to bike hours and hours at a time so despite living on the 5th floor we try and have Jael bike at least 3x a week. He’s still trying to get the hang of it but he enjoys every minute.
Blowing Bubbles
Now this is a simple activity but not simple in fun! Blowing bubbles can become quite the art for a child especially when they’re trying to blow that perfect bubble.
Photoshoot!
Surprisingly, this activity is good for both girls and boys. Jael loves doing photoshoots outdoors. I thought I’d have to prod him into it at first but with his Kuya’s direction, he’s enjoying it even more.
What’s great about this activity is that it can include the whole family and you can have all kinds of props. It also gives children more confidence in front of the camera.
Free Play
Who says you have to do any particular activity? Why not have free play? Kids can go for hours and hours exploring their surroundings, tumbling on the grass, unearthing worms and insects and flying (aka running) as fast as they can.
All these summer activities will keep your child busy. And with a glass of NIDO 5+ that is also enriched with CALCI-N® to help build healthy bones and DHA plus ALA, LA, Folic Acid and Taurine that supports brain structure development, your kids will surely have a #LakingAmazing summer. I’m proud to say Jael is a Laking Nido, Protektado kid and knowing that each glass of NIDO 5+ provides him with all this protection gives me the peace of mind I need when he’s outside and about.
I believe children should enjoy their childhood and play is such a big part of that. Give your kids #LakingAmazing moments by letting them play outdoors and by giving them NIDO 5+!

I am counting on the playground date with the kids… I just know they hate when I take too much photos 🙂 Thanks for this, great ideas!
Kids really need play. I’m just glad that we live near the playground. So, my kids have all the exercise they need.
Recently, my son enjoyed our Visita Iglesia because we were able to swing “gala” at the same time also 🙂
If there’s something I regret I’m not giving my son, it’s the childhood I had. Climbing on trees, and playing on the streets–never mind the bruises and scrapes! Sigh. Btw, how old is your son? My guapito! 🙂
Yes, I wish we could give that kind of childhood…. He’s 5 yo. Thanks! 🙂
My boy just graduated from elementary and he only asked for a basketball as a gift. Ihihi. With his new basketball, I expect him to play with his brothers at the subdivision’s basketball court. And yes, he and his brothers still drink milk twice a day. In the morning though they would ask me to put some Milo. 🙂
These are great activities for kids.Kids these days need to go out of their rooms and online world to experience other things too.
These are all great activities for kids! Thanks for the idea, mommy.
You know, I am dreaming of becoming a WAHM so I can somehow come and join my son on this kind of activities when he is already old enough.
My kids doesn’t know how to drive a bike yet so I guess it’s going to be one of our agendas this summer and blowing bubbles more bubbles because they really love it!
When my son turns of age, I vow to really encourage active play. Hope I get to stick to it. These are great activities 🙂
