I’m always on the lookout for a learning app that Jael can use. The digital age has made it quite impossible not to be online. However, for kids it’s a must to make sure their experience online can be one that is both fun, safe and educational.
I was introduced to a Filipino learning app, Halina’t Bumasa and I found it interesting that there was an app specially made for Filipino kids. This particular app teaches kids about the parts of their body but in that, it also teaches them letters and sounding out.
The Halina’t Bumasa app is the brainchild of the Tuason family who decided to create their own app when they saw the lack relatable apps for Filipino children.
The app is very straightforward and easy to use. You have your choice of Filipino dialects to choose from and even the English language.
The learning app will teach children about their body parts from head to toe. The game is interactive though so kids won’t get bored as they learn.
Kids are introduced to a body part then told to spell out the part by dragging the letters. Don’t worry if your child doesn’t know the alphabet completely there are outlines of each letter to help guide them. The word is also sounded out adding another learning experience.
You can download these apps for free for a limited time!

It is nice to see that there are new apps every now and then that focuses on the Filipino language. My kid is 12 years old, and he knows how to do apps. My frustration is in convincing him to make apps for education. Instead, he is more into game programming. At any rate, the Filipino language is difficult to learn. Considering how our kids today are more adept at speaking English, the necessity of such apps are invaluable.
