Since the kids got new phones, of course hubby also got a new phone. As I was shopping on Ensogo, I checked out the available smartphones and saw the Lenovo A850. I showed it to hubby and he liked it straight away. He’s not too techie so he trusted me to get a phone he can handle.
On Ensogo, the Lenovo A850 was only Php4199. Pretty much a steal from the regular price of Php9999.
The only choice for color was black but that worked perfectly for him.
Included in the box:
- 1 x Lenovo A850 4GB (Black)
- 1 x Battery
- 1 x Charger
- 1 x Headset
- 1 x User’s Guide
When it was delivered and I checked out the phone I wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it was. Although, I did note it would be bigger than a normal phone I wasn’t expecting it to be that wide. Dimensions for the Lenovo A850 are 15.35 x 7.93 x 0.95 cm / 0.184 kg.
Its sleek body and curvy edges makes it very attractive and perfect for hubby.
It has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The large screen lets him browse large-sized web pages, check his emails and also easily type text messages which he used to complain about on his old phone since the screen was much smaller.
The inside specs are quite doable with an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system with 1.3GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB and dual SIM. Hubby mostly uses his phone to watch videos and hardly plays games. Though the Lenovo phone provides all kinds of apps.
It has a 2250mAH battery providing talk-time of 28 hours 40 minutes and standby time of 490 hours which is great and something he definitely needs for work.
The camera specs are 5MP for the primary camera and has geo-tagging, touch focus and a 0.3MP front facing camera. This may not be as high as other smartphones but since he only uses it for taking pictures of the family and such the camera specs will more than do. It has a wide 178 degrees viewing angle to capture whole shots.
Here’s a sample view of the camera. In person it’s really much brighter and clearer but as you can see there are also options to improve the quality of your shots.
By ordering on Ensogo, I get a 1 year service warranty which is an added incentive and it had a 7 Days Unit Replacement. So far so good. He’s enjoying the phone and has gotten used to the size.
The camera specs and specs overall are a vast improvement from his last phone. The only thing bugging him is that the text auto corrects and he hasn’t figured out how to remove that option yet.
Hope this review helps if you’re looking for a good quality phone at a reasonable price. Make sure to check out Ensogo when you go shopping for phones since they offer deals on all their items.
