With the success of Yummy Eats it’s no wonder that a similar concept, this time for baon ideas has become another event. I was very much looking forward to Yummy Magazine Big Baon Blowout held at Trinoma mall. I brought along the kids so they could also have a try of the concessionaires that would be setting up booths there.
It was very much a family affair and the kids enjoyed trying new food and drinks. Apologies for the quality of the photos below but with a 4 year old in tow, balancing my tray and camera it was a bit difficult to take decent pictures.
There were over 30 concessionaires offering a variety of snack and meal ideas. There were also cooking demos and raffle activities. Guest chefs included Yummy Magazine team’s Erickson John “Idge” Mendiola, Assistant Managing Editor, Katrina Luisa “Trikna” Gonzales, Assistant Style Editor, and Ma. Rachelle “Rach” Santos, Food Director. Smart Parenting contributing writer, Michelle Aventajado, and Good Housekeeping Food Editor, Roselle Miranda, also whipped up a few recipes for the participants.

Yummy Big Baon Blowout is by Yummy Magazine together with Smart Parenting, Good Housekeeping, Total Girl and K-Zone. This event was co-presented by Aquiva, and sponsored by Datu Puti and Lady’s Choice, and major sponsors Goldilocks, Bounty Fresh Chicken, and Hunt’s Pork & Beans.
We enjoyed the Schweet Street and found a favorite there which I’ll share in a bit.
The kids lined up for some crepes made with a Severin crepe maker.
A Yummy favorite, Bayani Brew was once again present. I love their Lemongrass and Pandan flavor.
Jael loved The Juice Barista’s magnetic sign.
There were quite a few spreads at the event which is very ideal for kid’s baon.
Now to my favorites of the Big Baon Blowout. These are what really stood out for me.

Another exciting part of the event for me at least, was being a part of Swak na Swak’s feature on the Yummy Big Baon Blowout event. With host Shah Sinsuat, we toured the Yummy event and I got to share a little bit about my baon dilemmas. Hope you can catch it on Channel 2, ABS-CBN Saturday and Sunday morning!
