Staycations seem to be the in thing nowadays. Today just to get out of the monotony of everyday life and to spend some time together away from home, families have a staycation meaning a stay in a hotel in the city. Rather than traveling for hours to a distant place to get away families opt to check in to hotels.
If I’m being honest this is the first time we’ve ever had a staycation. I see plenty of families going on staycations and I was thrilled that we were finally able to experience a stay in a hotel just relaxing and spending time together.
The Linden Suites is in the heart of the Ortigas business district located on One San Miguel Avenue. Very close to SM Megamall and Shangri La Plaza which are both just a short walk away. Parking is at the back of the building and from our experience you have to be a pretty good driver since it’s a bit narrow. There are 3 parking floors though so you can easily be accommodated. Check in was very efficient and quick.
Once we got to the room we took it all in and were thankful for the weekend ahead. We invited my mom to join us on our staycation and I was looking forward to spending time with her, too.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and surprisingly you’ll find that all the rooms are spacious. I’ve had a chance to stay at a 5 star hotel and it didn’t even seem to compete with what The Linden Suites offered us.
Each suite has plenty of amenities to enjoy like a home entertainment system and since there were 6 of us having a television in each room (make that 3 TVs- complete of course, with cable TV) was great! Other amenities include, an electronic safe, WiFi access (big YES!), an iron and ironing board and more.
The kitchen is complete with a refrigerator, microwave, induction stove, coffee maker, hot pot, plates, utensils, and glasses. Whether you choose to grab some take out or cook you’re pretty much set.
Our view from the living room looks out towards EDSA. We were on the 12th floor so it wasn’t too high but it still had a great view.
The master bedroom was solely Oliver’s and I for the night. We co-sleep with Jael and I plan on doing that for just a little while longer to make it 5 years just like his Kuya and Ate and then he’ll be in a separate room from us. For our staycation though, Jael was excited to sleep with them.
The master bedroom is really roomy so much space to relax in and of course it had it’s own bathroom with a tub. We should have brought bubbles for the bath but settled for my SkinWhite body wash!
Each room had a desk and even though it was a weekend I still needed to do the usual bit of work but just a tiny bit.
Our master bathroom was very clean and I can’t divulge how it  happened but that floor some how dried a huge puddle of water. I hate it when floors don’t dry fast and easily but this does. We were provided with everything we need to the basic toiletries to plenty of towels, robes and even slippers.
The second room had 2 beds where the kids all slept. They also had a desk, closet and a TV of course. When we first got to our hotel room Jael was completely out of that scene from Home Alone when Kevin realizes that he’s home alone. Jael ran from room to room for like an hour. Not kidding.
My stay at The Linden Suites was made all the more special because I got to spend it with my family. My days are usually full of work, family, chores and blogging (when I can fit it in). It was wonderful to spend Mother’s Day in a beautiful hotel suite.
My stay was made even better because my 2 closest mommy blogger friends were also staying there with their families. I looked forward to our Mother’s Day events lovingly planned for us mommies staying at the hotel that weekend.

The Health Club is complete with a fully equipped gym, heated pool, jacuzzi, and a sauna and spa massage. We were looking forward to getting some swimming in. Unfortunately, Bastian was under the weather with a slight fever so he stayed in the room with his Lola.
Our excitement couldn’t be contained and double that for the kids. You can see Jael was well prepared with his Mickey Mouse floaters. The pool is only 4 feet so it’s very ideal for adults no matter the height. For Jael it wasn’t hard at all to guide him in the pool. The heated pool is the perfect temperature and you can literally stay in there for hours.
Right next to the pool is the jacuzzi where we also stayed. It very shallow and though the water seems very hot upon entering your body quickly adjusts to the temperature.
After swimming and dinner, I took a tour of the hotel.

I was touched to see a display of these beautiful flowers for the mommies. Families could purchase a bouquet to present to the women in their lives. There was also a poster of the Best MOMents Ever event for the following day. Mommy Bloggers Philippines was a proud sponsor.
The Linden Suites has a partner restaurant, Mesclun Restauarnt and Cafe where guests can dine and where they go to get their complimentary breakfast buffets.
We woke up really early despite a late night to troop on down for breakfast at around 6:30am. We were very early and were the only guests at the time to dine. You can read more about Mesclun here.
We were in for a treat Mother’s Day morning as The Linden Suites planned a zumba session, cooking demo and make up session.
I have finally tried aqua zumba! It’s a bit harder to do than regualr zumba but it’s so much fun! We followed along with our instructor for that morning and got an invigorating workout in.
Chef Rosebud Benitez shared a recipe from her Weight to Go program during her cooking demo and we got to take some home with us! The morning was definitely geared towards us mommies improving and living a healthy lifestyle.

Mary Kay was present to give us a make up 101 lesson. I definitely needed this. I hardly wear make up and am content to settle for powder foundation and a bit of blush.
From this session I learned how to properly cleanse my face, apply foundation and wear eyeliner and mascara. Lani was such a pro at this and the end result of my make up was largely due to her expertise.

Our stay at The Linden Suites has made this year’s Mother’s Day very memorable. My take on staycations has also changed and it’s so worth spending even just a weekend at a hotel as lovely The Linden Suites.
Visit The Linden Suites website for their rooms and rates and their Facebook page to keep up to date on any promos or events they have.

I’ve never had a staycation yet but I am planning to try it soon with my partner and daughter. It seems fun and I think its a good way for us 3 to bond. Btw, the hotel you stayed at looks nice, I love how the rooms are spacious! 🙂
Linden Suites looks nice, and near the shopping malls too! 😉
I miss staycations! Linden Suites looks awesome and especially that their pool is heated. Thumbs up!
Oo nga, usong – uso ngayon ang staycation no?! Hehe.

You really had fun with your family and friends 🙂 Belated happy mother’s day
The pool looks very inviting! Pretty nice for a business hotel.

Wow! Super happy ang staycation niyo with your family Mommy Luisa! I have been in Linden Suites many times because we often held our meetings there kaya alam kong superb talaga ang service nila. Belated Happy Mother’s Day!
The first time I went here, it was for a friend’s baby shower. I really like the rooms because it was spacious enough to accommodate 20+ people. Hehehe. Great pictures you have there mommy. Looks like you enjoyed too. Happy mother’s day! 🙂
An unforgettable Mother’s Day di ba? So happy to be with you, sana more opps like these to come!
I’ve only experienced staying at The Linden Suites twice: first one was my birthday and first born’s dedication celebration, second one was just last April when we hosted a friend’s bridal shower. Both times I am happy with their service and with our rooms. It’s still far from 5-star hotels that I’ve stayed in when it comes to some things that I am particular with (lalo na the food), but I like staying there because it’s family friendly and rooms are huge. My review of their 3-bedroom suite is one of my most read posts!
You and your family surely had fun. It only goes to prove that you can relax and simply enjoy with your family without having to travel out far.
(speechless) I really had to go back to your site to think of what I am going to comment! Hahaha.. Anyway, I love the idea of having a staycation without driving so far! I also love the activities prepared for you! Good on you, Louisa and other moms. Indeed, it was a happy mother’s day!
I love the make-up. Will consider visiting Linden Suites this year for our wedding anniversary. Looks like you had fun and it was a really a perfect stay-cation 🙂
That was a very nice stay with our fellow mommy bloggers. I’ve been there before and was able to cook for a presentation.
I’m still not sure about the concept of staycation. At first I thought that its about staying at home during a summer break or Christmas vacation. I guess staying in hotels is also counted.
