I’ve been pretty carefree for most of my 20’s not thinking about starting a beauty routine or protecting my skin. It was only in my thirties that I started to think about taking care of my skin.
At 35, the first time I ever had a facial done was when I was 34 and it was also only then that I started to use a facial wash and moisturizer. As I feel my age, I’m starting to show more attention to my skin.
I was looking forward to some pampering at the newly opened holistic skin clinic, Luminisce . Despite it being December and with all the traffic I decided to make a trip to Luminisce in BGC just right in front of St Lukes Global Hospital.
Having only been practicing for a year, Dr Kaycee Reyes and her team have become quite well known and already have celebrity endorsers. Dr. Kaycee herself has such beautiful skin and after consulting with her you’re put at ease.
Dr. Kaycee has studied in London and Singapore to perfect her craft with a fellowship in Thailand. She was very accommodating and answered all my questions. She asks you what your problem areas are and if asked will also make some suggestions. I shared that my problem areas were my stretch marks and dark circles under the eyes. We also touched a bit on weight and sagging of the face.
During my consultation Dr. Kaycee gave me a bit of a crash course on skin. She also showed me pictures of before and after shots of procedures related to my concern. For my session, I decided to try their Luxury Facial and Clear Laser Peel with a Skin Infuse Booster. The whole process would take about an hour and a half.
I proceeded to the room and immediately you’re relaxed in the rich golds. There was also soothing music playing to add to my luminous experience.
Here’s me, before my procedure.
My attendant, Myca was very gentle and she was able to answer all my queries on the procedure and other questions that I had. She started me off with the Luxury Facial where I received a facial cleanse and massage. Ahhh…
Then a sonophoresis to remove whiteheads and blackheads, a galvanic lifting to lift and revitalize my skin and lastly an oxygenating facial with Vitamin C to help open up my pores and lighten and brighten my skin.
After my Luxury Facial I had a Clear Laser Peel and started off with the first wave, whitening organic mask, micro carbon for skin rejuvenation. The 2nd wave was to minimize oiliness and the third wave to tighten the pores. The last wave was a a bit surprising as I felt like there were sparks on my skin which turned out to be a machine targeting the carbon. The Skin Infused Booster was done to lighten pigmentation which were the dark circles under my eyes.
Dr. Kaycee had stressed the importance of using sunblock daily and advised me to apply every 4 hours even when at home. As a work at home mom in front of a computer most of the day it was important for me to apply it since I was also exposed to UV rays from my computer. The last part of my treatment was the application of sunblock.
After my treatment, my skin felt so light and was glowing. I certainly felt like it had lightened and brightened. With the 3 procedures done I felt like every layer of my skin was treated and revitalized.
Aside from their Skin Revival Program they also have Laser Solutions, Hair and Healing, Age Defy, Skin Lift, Shape and Sculpt, Hair and Healing and more.

Oh, I love how your face glows after your treatment! I wish I’d have the courage to go for facial but I don’t.
I’m sooo scared of going for any kind of facial. I went for a popular one once and I had a zit that lasted 2 years on my face. It was a terrible, terrible experience considering that I was still performing back then, so it made me insecure. A friend of mine had a similar experience from the same establishment. Neither of us went back.
This sounds like such a luxurious treatment. Agree, we should takae better care of our skin while we are young.
Ooh would love to have a facial done now. It’s been a while since I had my facial e. Your skin looked revitalized after the procedures 🙂
Great experience!
I actually have this negative thinking when I hear about facials and skin clinics. Back in high school, a friend told me her cousin’s pimples worsened after a session at the derm clinic. I would love to try out some cleaning sessions to get rid of my stubborn blackheads though.
I am also scared of those procedures but look at you, your face really is glowing after the procedure. I am curious about the stretch marks too.. what did Dr. Kaycee said about it? hehehe. =)
I don’t like having facials also.. i mean, except at home. I prefer homemade facial scrubs … but that glow on your face! Well, they’re really experts 🙂 – edel
Your skin does look lighter and brighter after the treatment!
My first and last facial was 8 years ago before I got married. hehehe! But I’m on my 30’s now so I think I should take care of my skin too. 🙂
I haven’t had a facial for a long time. One of my goals for the new year is actually to take better care of my skin. It can get quite expensive though. How much are the treatments at Luminisce?
Hi Janice, The prices at Luminisce are a bit more expensive but if you’re willing to invest in your skin and want the whole package meaning ambiance and thorough consultation then you’ll definitely get it here. The 3 procedures I went through came to about Php8000.
The last facial treatment was….. 10 years ago! But, I’m not really into facial so, didn’t do it again. Your face did look glowing after the treatment, though! 🙂
I would love to have a treatment like yours! It produced a youthful glow on your skin 🙂
I don’t usually go for facials since I always end up having pimples after treatment–regardless of which clinic I go to. So I’ve settled with a beauty routine that includes a facial wash, toner, and moisturizer. It worked pretty well with me. 🙂 But it looks like you’re “hiyang” with the treatment. I love the glow!
Wow, you can really see the glow after the facial! 🙂 I really need to get a facial one of these days too.
You look more radiant afterward! I’ve never had a facial or any procedure but I may try it soon. I’m more inclined to have body hair treatments muna haha
Hi Maan, Actually doing that as well. Will be sharing about it really soon!
That is one type of pampering I’d like to experience for myself. You’re lucky to have been given the chance to experience one of the services offered by Luminisce, sis!
Sunblock is very important nga as soon as we reach 30. It’s good that you are already starting to have a daily ritual.
