Cable TV has been a constant in our life and we all have our favorite channels. I remember our old TV had a feature where we could assign channels to a certain button. Oliver had the blue button for sports and news, I had the red button for movies and entertainment channels and the kids had the orange button for cartoons and learning channels.
Our current cable provider is not one we would have chosen but we are left with no choice because they’re the only provider allowed in our condo complex. That’s why it was a nice surprise to learn more about Cignal TV a Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite provider at an event I recently attended with Kianna and Jael.
I had always thought that Cignal TV was too expensive but upon talking with their personnel and learning of the benefits despite their being a bit more expensive it definitely seems worth it. They offer different plans to suit your needs. You can choose from plans ranging from Php490 to Php1590. All of these plans include HD channels and standard channels.
Popular channels such as HBO, Starworld, Star Movies, NBA Premium, and even Disney XD HD are included in the affordable Plan 630 (total monthly cost is Php780 including the monthly box maintenance fee).
They more than sold me on their service as I’m currently paying Php500 for cable and the quality is less than desirable.
We were on a superhero high having just attended a Meet and Greet with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Jael was very excited to be meeting Spiderman and so we headed over to SM Megamall’s Activity Center where a Meet and Greet with Spiderman was open to bloggers and the media. They later opened the Meet and Greet to the public free of charge and no purchase requirement whatsoever.
Cignal TV and Disney XD kicked off their exciting collaboration by conducting a massive 12-leg nationwide mall tour last June where limited edition Disney XD premium items were given to the first 100 new Cignal subscribers in each mall. As an added treat, one lucky family was flown in to Singapore for a special meet and greet with the cast of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy last July.
The three-day event held at the SM Megamall Event Center from August 22 to 24 also featured pre-show games and trivia for the fans and giveaways of exclusive Disney XD premium items to those who subscribed to Cignal TV Post-Paid Plan 490 and up.
While waiting for Spidey we watched some Spiderman shows on Disney XD.
Disney XD has an exciting line up for kids with shows such as Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, Kick Buttowski, Star Wars Rebels, Randy Cunningham and more.
Jael with his Spiderman foam hands. He was even teaching Kianna and I how to properly position our hands for some web slinging!
Stan, the Filipino correspondent for The Daily Bugle entertained us while we waited for Spiderman to swing on by for the Meet and Greet.
Finally, Spiderman made his appearance and the children were in awe. Jael was holding on to Kianna so tightly because there was a little bit of fear in that awe he was feeling.
