B & P: Just Like Home Cooking

You can’t beat home cooking. The memories that come with home cooked meals fill our hearts and mind while the food fills the senses. That’s B&P’s inspiration for their casual dining restaurant along Shaw Blvd.

I attended the soft opening of the new restaurant which is under the Cravings Group that has also brought us Wicked by Cravings. We did a play with words for the meaning of B&P and were asked to come up with our own. Immediately what came to mind was Burgeoning & Plentiful, Bright & Promising, Brimming & Potent, Blinding & Piercing and Bold & Passionate. It turns out that “B” stands for Bea and “P” stands for Pia who we we were able to meet during the opening.

The place has a very homey ambiance with the use of greens, browns and yellows. Small touches such as picture frames and books make it seem like you’re eating at home or at a friend’s house.

The menu offers comfort food from pancakes to tapa. All the dishes I was able to try were delicious. What made an impression was the Creole Style Eggs and their Pancake Supreme. Overflowing with flavor and goodness. I loved their Lemon Celery Pandan Cooler which had popping flavored “bobba”.

Their House Specialty is the BnP Chick to Chick which is half a chicken simmered in herbs and spices, coated in buttermilk batter then deep fried. It is served with homemade french toast and peppered gravy and sour cream dip.

The menu is a fun representation of Bea & Pia’s growing up years with specialties such as High School Life, Crush ng Bayan, Don Malutong, Salpy Cow, and Outback Trip.

Try their breakfast specials which boasts of Happy Morning, Poached Eggs Bruschetta, and my favorite the Creole Style Eggs.

Their pancakes are no ordinary pancakes. They come in stacks of 3, the Triple Decker served with nutella, fresh banana and caramel with whipped cream or you can go for the Pancake Supreme which has 5 layers filled with strawberry, blueberry, banana, orange and mangoes also with whipped butter.
