Good Life Flavors of Fortune Chinese New Year Celebration 2017

We welcomed the Year of the Rooster at the Good Life Flavors of Fortune Food Trip event at Robinsons Place Manila. The Chinese New Year celebration was filled with auspicious, traditional and festive activities celebrating the new year to come.

Good Life held a 2 day event giving families an opportunity to try authentic Chinese cuisine at the Chinoy Food Strip and do crafts such as paper lantern making, calligraphy and paper cutting at the Chinoy activity strip. Kicking off the event was a dragon and lion dance.

The 2 day celebration was a full schedule including cooking demos, cultural performances, and plenty of raffle draws! Guests were able to join by purchasing any Good Life products worth Php90.00 at Robinsons Supermarket. Guests were then given passports to try the activities.

There were 8 food booths to try different Chinese dishes. Guests were able to vote for their best dish.

A Good Life Chinoy Dish Showdown was also held highlighting modern Chinese-Filipino dishes. Some of the finest hotels in Manila were featured participants, Hotel Kimberly, City Garden Hotel, Lotus Garden Hotel, Eurotel, Bayview Park Hotel, Amelie Hotel, and Best Western Hotel.

Our pick was the dish from Eurotel though it was a close call with a couple of other ones.

At the Horoscope Wall guests were able to see their fortune for the year ahead. This year Dragons seem to be the luckiest animal sign reaping in monetary, career and love success.

Three winning pieces from the St Stephen’s High School competition were on display.

At the Prosperity Tree guests were given a chance to pick an envelope and win prizes. Trees represent enduring strength and are believed to bring good luck and fortune.

PAP launches its first Mom and Baby Expo in the Philippines

Moms and moms-to-be eagerly await the onset of summer as the countdown to the first ever Mom and Baby Expo begins. Organized by the Perinatal Association of the Philippines (PAP), the exhibit showcases all facets of comprehensive perinatal healthcare such as products, services, technology and new methods, all of which are intended in aiding Filipina mothers and their infants.

 “Our objective is simple yet powerful: to impart advices and traverse new ideas moms and expectant moms can use that will ultimately strengthen their maternal bond with their babies” says PAP President Dra. Belen Velasco.  “This is very exciting because this is something big, something we have envisioned to happen for the longest time. And now, finally, we are doing it.”

The Mom and Baby Expo 2017 will showcase a series of talks from perinatal experts, pocket workshops, fun and informative activities, selling booths, food stalls and many more. “In the past, we have mounted a number of interesting, fun and successful assemblies in the aim of improving the health of both mothers and infants. This year, we are very proud our passionate members with decades of proven and justified experience in their fields of expertise, led by Dra. Velasco, thought of this exhibition” shares Dr. Diosdado Mariano, past PAP President. “The Expo is an opportunity to analyze and seek solutions to existing issues pertaining to maternal-fetal and newborn areas in an engaging and fun way.”

The Mom and Baby Expo 2017 will be held on April 21-23 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls 2 and 3. The three-day event is made possible by the PAP, in partnership with its trusted affiliates- the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecology Society (POGS), Philippine Pediatrics Society (PPS), Philippine Society of Newborn Medicine (PSNbM), Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP), and the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP). Araneta Center Stages the First-Ever Le Grand Cirque

The Araneta Center has always brought a lot of firsts to Filipino audiences, and it’s no different this year as it stages the first-ever “Le Grand Cirque” at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in December.

A show that will keep you on the edge of your seat, “Le Grand Cirque” lets audiences feel the thrill of death-defying stunts and unbelievable acts as in a spectacular show families can enjoy this Yuletide season.


Direct from Las Vegas and touted as the greatest show in town, “Le Grand Cirque” promises to give high-octane family entertainment with its mesmerizing display of impossible feats of agility and strength. It is a big-scale circus production that features a group of world-class performers and artists that come from Europe, Canada, China and the UK.

Combining comedy and high-risk acrobatics, the dynamic and engaging circus show has enamored audiences all over the world. “Le Grand Cirque” mixes traditional circus acts with modern theatrical techniques to seamlessly convey a narrative or theme. It is packed with thrilling action and humor leaving its viewers, young or old, watching with bated breath.

The amazing show will feature a series of jaw-dropping routines like a Russian swing, where acrobats do impressive high jumps as they are tossed from one large floor-mounted swing to another. Acrobats and contortionists will gracefully perform high in the air and on-stage, thrilling audiences with various acts involving suspended aerial cubes, high bars, and hanging poles. Trapeze artists will also showcase their gymnastic skills with beautifully choreographed aerial stunts. Fire-breathers, hoopers, jugglers, and strongmen will also show off their skills alongside clowns that bounce along the sides of the stage.
