The event was held for the sales and marketing department of Playtex Philippines to give them a better understanding of the newly launched product and to be able to comfortably discuss the topic of tampons. We were invited along to also share about how tampons work.

Does using a tampon affect virginity?
No, you don’t lose your virginity using a tampon. The tampon does not reach the hymen.
Can a tampon be pushed too far into the body?
No, the opening at the end of the vagina called the cervix is too small.
Can a tampon disappear into the body?
No, aside from the cervix being too small, the walls of the vagina hold the tampon in place.
Can a Playtex tampon be worn all night?
Yes, you can wear it for up to 8 hours at a time. It’s recommended though that a tampon be changed every 4-8 hours to reduce the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Dra. Lydia Jamora discussed the basics of tampon use and the origins of the tampon. Would you be surprised to know that tampons have been in use since as early as the 19th century? Pretty surprising right?
The tampon has drastically evolved from the use of paper, cotton, wool (I know right?!) and cloth.
Fun Fact: The normal amount of menstrual blood is between 30-80ml. Blood starts to have odor when it is outside of the body after 6-8 hours.
