My eldest has been into learning the ukulele lately and I’m glad I can help encourage him. Bastian has been learning quite a lot of songs. I love that he can play Dream a Little Dream of Me. He’s hoping to learn Dust in the Wind also. He’s self taught and just uses videos on YouTube as a guide.

One of the ways to further encourage him was to bring him to the Uke Box Caffe in Eastwood. I told him all about it and he was keen to visit. Since I was visiting a friend in the area I brought him along.

The cafe is located outside of Eastwood main but near enough to walk to and from. It was a Sunday and early at that so when we got there they had just opened.

The place is very bohemian, relaxing and colorful. They have many seats and areas to lounge in for hours.

They have seating at a 2nd level but this is open in the afternoons when there are more people. The place screams of comfort and relaxation.

Since I’d be leaving him for a few hours he got some food and tried their iced drinks. Iced Mocha (Php155 & Carbonara Php250).

Bastian liked the ambiance and being in a music inspired cafe. He says though it would be much better with a friend along.

This summer the Uke Box Caffe has free weekend workshops. If you don’t have a ukulele and aren’t ready to buy one yet don’t worry you can rent one for the session.
