To top Jael’s 5th birthday celebration we caught the Disney Live! show at the Kia Theatre. Jael had been excited to watch since I first told him about it and everyday he would ask me if it was the day we were going to watch.
The Disney Live! show from start to finish is pure amazement with fun surprises and a beautiful coordination of lights and sounds. The choreography is also top notch with interesting dance numbers and modern hits. Watching the show one can’t help but think that it must have taken elaborate planning to get the whole show to come out as it did.
The newly renovated Kia Theatre, once known as New Frontier Theatre is a wonderful place to hold this show. The seats were comfy, the aisles wide enough and the design modern and fresh. Being that it’s a newly built theatre one might expect that but I can imagine it’s newness lasting for quite some time. The theatre houses 2,385 of balcony and orchestra seats and a spacious lobby with a snack counter. The restrooms are very accommodating having quite a number of stalls.
We were early for the show as we were excited but mostly excited for Jael. He couldn’t wait to see Mickey Mouse and the To Story characters.
We were seated in the VIP Left section in the 7th row giving us an amazing up close view.
When the show started you could hear everyone in the theatre quiet down. Mickey Mouse and the gang started the show off but for me the show got interesting when Jafar, Aladdin and Jasmine came on. When they sang “A Whole New World” I was taken back to my teens. Jafar being the comedic relief that he is had me laughing.
Early on Jael had said that he did not like Little Mermaid. He said that would be for his Ate Kianna BUT (and I think along with everyone else) he was in awe with this scene featuring Sebastian, Flounder and the other sea life.
Ariel came on stage and it was just magic. My favorite scenes were included in the show!
When Woody came on to the scene followed by Jess I kept peeking at Jael and he was in total amazement. The surprise they injected when Buzz arrived was awesome and so much fun. Definitely interactive as they claimed the show would be.
For the finale, all the characters were on stage dancing and singing and you just knew it was going to be explosive.
