When I first saw that McDonalds was going to have the Happy Meal Minions I asked Jael what he wanted and he told me all of them! Well, there are 10 Minion toys so let’s start with just one, I said. He chose the Vampire Minion. We trooped down to the nearest McDonalds but alas, the toys were already out of stock!
I was told however, that a special collection would be offered and you could get the whole set by pre-ordering. For Php949 you could get the complete set (10 Minions) and Happy Meals. We were considering this when lo and behold I was invited to the Minions at McDo media launch held at their West Ave branch!
It was an intimate gathering and the kids got to have a Minion and banana fun filled day!
Jael was excited to see the all the Minions and kept checking out each one.
We were in for a day of activities and food galore! There was a painting station where you could get inked Minion style, a couple of games for kids and adults, and the kids got some exercise in the McDonald’s play area.
Adi Timbol, PR & Communications Manager told us a little more about the collaboration between one of our favorite fast food restaurants and the Minions. Aside from the Minions movie coming out next month we’re in for a surprise as they launch something special this weekend! Watch out for that!
I asked Adi what she thought the Minions had in common with McDo that made the partnership work perfectly and she said that the Minions are fun and wholesome which is the embodiment of McDonald’s. Well said.
Jael had so much fun at the launch playing with the toys and running his heart out in the play area. We didn’t get to a chance to try the Minion painting but nevertheless he went home happy and smiling.
We received a special treat from McDo, the complete set of the Minion toys! Jael was ecstatic! He loves the toys so much that we made a video EvanTube style! Check it out at the bottom of the post!

OMG! MINIONS! 😀 You’re so blessed to have been invited to the event.. my kids are actually making the cute face and begging for some stewart and bob minions as they have loved them since they were 2 and 1, but alas, I can’t find a nearby store that have them cause they’re all sold out huhuhu…
I think vampire minion is my fave 🙂
