My daughter, Kianna and I attended a fun event at Pan De Manila in Market Market! You may have been hearing about the Pan De Donut and we had the privilege of trying out this new treat and all it’s flavors.

Our family loves the pandesal at Pan De Manila and we would often get some for breakfast or a late night snack creating different kinds of sandwiches. When we got this invitation I asked my daughter to accompany me as my son, Bastian had gone with me to Wicked by Cravings where we also got to try desserts.

So far the Pan De Donut is available at Market Market! and Telus Cubao but they will be adding this product line to more branches. Very affordable at Php38.00 per donut no matter what the flavor. My personal favorite was the Chocomonds while Kianna’s was the Chunky Crookies.

There are plenty of donuts out there but the difference with the Pan De Donut is that it’s “baked not fried” which is very welcome in my world what with having had my gallbladder recently removed.

As quoted by Pan De Manila “A selection that will excite fans and give an alternative to fried and sugar-heavy ring doughnuts in the market, Pan de Manila’s new Pan de Donuts are definitely attracting attention as it combines two of Pinoys’ well-loved pastry items -– the pan de sal and the doughnut.  This early, the Pan de Donuts are fast becoming the must-try for foodies in 2014!   Baked to yummy perfection, the Pan de Donuts are bromate-and trans-fat free, thus expect a mouthful of soft, filling bread that is guaranteed healthy in every bite. “

“We have created the Pan de Donuts so that we could have our own Filipino-inspired version of a doughnut. That’s why we have very Filipino flavors such as Polvoron, Ube, Chocnut, Pili, and more,” said Mari Sebastian, marketing manager of Pan de Manila. “Not only that, our version is a healthier alternative, as our Pan de Donuts are baked, not fried.”

We also got to try our hand at making donuts. We got a demo from one of the Pan De Manila guys who made it look so easy but was really challenging when we started to do it.
